WELCOME
Welcome to the
website for BackTalkzine,
a magazine dedicated to th idea that we can build
solid relationships with our teens as we watch them
launch into adulthood.
BackTalkzine
is a quarterly magazine full of opinions,
perspectives and well...talking back.
BackTalkzine
got started when our kids hit the pre-teen and teen
years and we found we didn't have much in common with
the magazines we read when our kids were younger.
Articles about family formation, toddler milestones
and elementary schooling - or even deschooling -
spoke to our past, not our present. What we need now
is reassurance that we are on the right path (well, a
moderately right path anyway) with our emerging young
adults. We longed for nurture, and attitude. Good
writing and different perspectives. So we created it.
Each issue is full of essays, book reviews, humor,
art, and other expressions of the eternal struggle of
parents to find the balance between just talking back
and really talking.
We hope to speak
to mothers and fathers and other
involved adults ...about our daughters and our
sons.
